Dina Ogon – Manniskobarn [Cream Colored Vinyl]

A lovechild of Fleetwood Mac, Khruangbin, obscure Motown singles and hip-hop duo Eric B & Rakim, seasoned with a bit of Stevie Wonder, Elis Regina and Ted Grdestad. The mixture of influences – from psychedelic rock to glittery pop, and onwards to funky soul – says something about the band’s base. The fourth album from Dina gon is longer than any they’ve ever released. If the eponymous debut, the sophomore effort Oas and the latest album Orion all stopped abruptly, the band are now pulling out all the stops and demand our full attention. During a time when the album format has largely been pushed back, privileging peppering of digital single releases of songs without any relation to each other, Dina gon are heading in the opposite direction and release a double album.
